Paul Edward Goldschmidt, born on September 10, 1987 in Wilmington, Delaware, is a proudly acclaimed American professional baseball player known for his impressive MLB career. Goldschmidt not only demonstrated his batting skills in the Major League Baseball landscape, but also proudly represented the United States in international competitions.

Goldschmidt, a lightly recruited player from The Woodlands High School, Texas, started his journey in professional baseball when he was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB draft. He debuted with them in 2011, and then joined the St. Louis Cardinals in 2019 where he continues to exhibit his baseball prowess.

Acknowledged for his formidable skills, Goldschmidt's career has been embellished with numerous accolades. His achievements include earning a spot seven times in the All-Star selection, winning the National League's Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award in 2022, and numerous others; two Hank Aaron Awards, four Gold Glove Awards, and five Silver Slugger Awards. Goldschmidt led the National League in home runs and runs batted in (RBI) in 2013. His career statistics up until the 2023 season boast a .293 batting average, 1,909 hits, 340 home runs, 1,122 runs batted in, and 158 stolen bases.

Born into a family with a Catholic mother and a Jewish father, Goldschmidt and his two younger brothers were raised in the Catholic faith while also appreciating their Jewish heritage. This honourable MLB player was a Houston Astros fan growing up and continued to carry his passion for baseball into a successful career, inspiring countless young athletes in the process.
