What is Drew Romo known for?

Drew Arthur Romo, born on August 29, 2001, in Fountain Valley, California is an American professional baseball catcher. He currently plays in the Colorado Rockies organization and is an alumnus of The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas.

During his amateur career, Drew Romo marked his place in the baseball landscape. He was selected for the U-18 United States national baseball team in 2018. He had an impressive junior year in 2019, hitting .397 with four home runs and 35 RBIs and compiled an excellent .993 fielding percentage. Showing his prowess, he played for the USA Baseball 18U National Team and participated in the Under Armour All-American Game. He had also committed to play college baseball at Louisiana State University.

Moving on to his professional career, he was selected as the 35th overall pick by the Colorado Rockies during the 2020 Major League Baseball draft. Although he didn't play a minor league game in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he made up for lost time in the 2021 season. Playing with the Fresno Grizzlies, he scored .314/.345/.439 with six home runs, 47 RBIs, and 23 stolen bases in 79 games. He later moved to the Spokane Indians, hitting .254 with five homers, 58 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases in 101 games. Then, in the 2023 season, Drew Romo stepped up his game playing for the Hartford Yard Goats and later the Albuquerque Isotopes, batting .259 with 13 home runs and 51 RBIs in 95 games. His performance earned him a place in the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters.

In his personal life, Romo identifies with Christianity. He grew up as a fan of the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees.
