Ameer Vann

Rapper, formerly of Brockhampton[60]

What is Ameer Vann known for?

Ameer Emmanuel Vann is an American rapper, most notable for being a member of the music collective Brockhampton, until his departure from the group in 2018. Born in Houston, Texas, on September 22, 1996, Vann attended The Woodlands High School in Texas, where he met future Brockhampton bandmates Kevin Abstract, Joba, Matt Champion, and Merlyn Wood.

Vann started his career as a member of AliveSinceForever, a group formed on the KanyeToThe forum in 2010, which eventually evolved into Brockhampton. He featured on their only project, The ASF EP, before releasing his own eponymous EP, Ameer Vann EP. Within Brockhampton, he was instrumental in shaping the group's image and vision, so much so that he was often called "the face of the Saturation trilogy". However, after allegations of sexual misconduct in 2018, the group part ways with Vann.

After a brief hiatus, Vann resumed his career as a solo artist, announcing the release of his first commercial EP, Emmanuel, in September 2019. His first solo live performance was at the Sound Of Brazil (S.O.B.'s) in New York City. He later released a Donut-produced single, "Keep Your Distance", followed by a second titled "IDFIATOK" (an acronym for "I Don't Fit In and That's OK").

Known for his laid-back flow, Vann frequently explores themes of racism, cynicism, substance abuse, and introspection in his music. His official website is www.ameervann.world.

While his career has been marked by various accomplishments, Vann also faced serious allegations in 2018. Multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct and abuse, including being emotionally manipulative, mentally abusive, and engaging in sexual relations with a minor. He responded to these accusations, vehemently denying any criminal behaviour or relations with a minor. These events led to the shelving of Brockhampton's then-upcoming fourth studio album.
