Tank Commander and Section Leader in Charlie Company, 2nd Tank Battalion. I led Marines in my tank crew and section. My responsibilities included mission accomplishment and troop welfare.
My duties involved in the tactical employment of tanks and tank crews for movement and combat included: preparation of weapon systems and ammunition; refueling; refilling hydraulic fluid and lubrication; preparation of radios and communications equipment; and verifying radio communications between the other tank crews. Other duties included: mission briefs with Marines in the platoon; inspection of Marines and their personal equipment; and rationing of food and water between my tank crew and section.
During tactical movements and combat, my duties included: continuous status and tactical updates between the tank crews in the platoon; navigation; and seeking and destroying targets.
After action duties included: crew-level preventive and corrective tank and weapon systems maintenance; and the continuous tactical, technical, and physical training of the Marines in the platoon.
