In 1991 became Executive Director of New England Carousel Museum, also Music branch, & Bushnell Park Carousel in Hartford. Louise was a founding member of National Association of Museum Exhibition and served as President for 5 years. Member of American Alliance of Museums, New England Museum Association, Connecticut Historical Society, Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Bristol Downtown Revitalization Committee,Mayor's Committee on Art and Culture, Bushnell park Foundation,Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and National Carousel Association.Louise met her husband, Harold "Lefty" DeMars, when she was captain of the CYO cheerleaders.
