Jonathan Carney, an acclaimed American violinist, violist, conductor, and a proud alumnus of Tenafly High School in Tenafly, New Jersey. Born into a family of six musicians in Tenafly, he refined his musical abilities at the esteemed Juilliard School studying with Christine Dethier and Ivan Galamian.

Moving his life across the pond to London, Carney further honed his music craft at the Royal College of Music, thanks to a Leverhulme Fellowship Award and under the tutelage of Trevor Williams. In 1991, his musical prowess saw him become the leader of the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, gracing stages both in the UK and internationally as a soloist.

Carney's thriving career took another leap in 1994 when he was appointed the Concertmaster of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, marking a memorable American tour for the Orchestra. His exceptional performance of the Nielsen concerto, recorded with them in 1997, further etched his name in the annals of musical maestros.

The talented musician didn't only restrict his skills to the classical genre. He also played with the Michael Nyman Band, leaving his mark on the soundtracks of various Peter Greenaway films.
