Class of 1968

Taft alum Willard Huyck (Classmof 1963) co-wrote American Graffiti with partner Gloria Katz and director George Lucas. The mean Boys VP character in the “The Hop” scenes was named Mr. Kroot, modeled after Taft faculty member, chemistry teacher William Kroot. The character even wore the same large, dark-rimmed classes our Mr. Kroot wore.
