Dr. Nancy L. Elwess
Class of 1972
Dr. Elwess is the recipient of numerous national awards for her work in the sciences. She is a molecular geneticist and professor at the State University of New York. Her accomplishments include being the 2009 recipient of a Presidential Excellence Award in the Sciences from President Barack Obama during a White House reception. She was also named the 2008 Outstanding Science Professor of the Year and the recipient of the 2007 National Biotechnology Research award.
