Favorite School Memory	I never actually went to Syracuse High School, but lived in Syracuse from the third grade through the seventh grade and would have graduated from Syracuse High School in 1961 if my family had not moved back to Kansas City after my father suffered a heart attack when I was in the 7th grade. Some of my favorite memories from the sixth and seventh grades, however, were being one of two students who were allowed to come over to the high school and play in the high school band. About Me	At the end of the 7th grade I moved to Kansas City, MO. and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1961. After that I went to the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri at Kansas City for four years to obtain an undergraduate degree in clarinet performance. I then came to New York City to obtain a masters degree in clarinet performance from Manhattan School of Music. Following graduation from Manhattan School of Music I received another masters degree in social work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work. Since then I have held a number of social work positions in mental health and child welfare agencies and maintained a private practice as a psychotherapist. I spent 23 years as a Senior Social Work Supervisor at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City, overseeing social work services in a child and adolescent outpatient clinic, an adolescent inpatient unit, an adolescent day treatment program and a therapeutic nursery. I retired from this position in 2005, however, following retirement have been the Director of two outpatient mental health programs. The first was the Child Clinic of the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health and the second was the Youth Counseling League of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. In October of 2008 I retired from agency work entirely and now am solely in practice as a private psychotherapist, working mostly with adults. I have my own office on East 40th Street in Manhattan, just two blocks from Grand Central Station. I also still play my clarinet, both semi-professionally and for fun. For 20 years I have played with the Amato Opera Company here in New York, which sadly just closed in May of 2009, however, I am on the Board of Directors of a group that will be trying to start a new opera Company, called the Amore Opera Company. There are even some pictures of me on some of the websites with information about Amato, however, I doubt that I look enough like the girl some of you may remember from 1956 to recognize me. I also play in a couple of community orchestras, played for many years with a woodwind quintet, twice toured in France with another woodwind quintet, and every summer go to the Chamber Music Conference and Composers Forum of the East in Bennington, Vermont.
