Mrs. Mary Underwood was a fine teacher for the Swanton Junior High School through 1986. She taught Phys Ed, Guidance/Health, and English before teaching for 2 years at SHS. She loved teaching with all her physical self and loved her students as they were all "her" children. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 28, 2011. She will lie in state on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 2pm to 8pm at Weigle Funeral Home in Swanton. She was instrumental in girls athletics in Swanton Ohio and coached numerous teams.
