Highest Rank achieved was Senior Chief Petty Officer but served 20 years in civilian clothes and never wore a uniform. Served on the Presidential Inaugural Committee for President Jimmy Carter and served with the burial detail for President John F. Kennedy. Received numerous medals and citations for meritorious service.
