About	April 22, 1953 - March 11, 2017 Born in Oakland Resided in San Francisco, CA SHARE Photos Services Guestbook Obituary Susan Angela Slattery (April 22, 1953- March 11, 2017) After a courageous battle with colon cancer, Sue passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a proud graduate of Saint Mary's College, where she met her husband, and they spent 44 loving years together. Her proudest accomplishment was her 4 children and 1 granddaughter. Effortlessly enriching the lives of those around her, she was an avid reader, artist, nurturer, and natural teacher. In recent years, Sue retreated to her home in Sonoma to garden, cook, and spend time with close family and friends. She lived life on her own terms and with no regrets. Family and friends will remember Sue for her kindness, humor, and bravery. She is survived by her husband Rich, her four children Patrick (Chelsey), John, Katie (Shiraz), Mary, and her grandchild, Josephine. The family wishes to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Baron and Dr. Abel, her compassionate nurses at the Pacific Hematology Oncology Center at CPMC who made bimonthly chemo treatments feel like visiting with old friends, and Alina from Hospice by the Bay who cared for Sue until her final days. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Paul Church, 221 Valley Street, San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
