About Me | Chrissy Faith's eclectic singing career blossomed in Manhattan just a few years after her 1969 SF graduation, with her first AEA (Union) tour as the militant lead, Sheila, in an original cast member tour of "Hair". Soon she enjoyed a busy life of jingles and sessions, singing on many national TV and radio spots...even 9 years of Sesame Street! She has hundreds of recording sessions credited, several of which earned her gold and platinum records: Madonna, Celine Dion, Taylor Dayne, Billy Ocean, Leonard Cohen & Neil Diamond, to name a few. Jazz recordings/gigs include Al Jarreau, David Sanborn and The Brecker Brothers. She was nominated for a Grammy as Best Female Rock Vocalist for her work as the singing voice of Demi Moore in Columbia Pictures' "No Small Affair". "There's a drive to keep it fresh, exciting and alive, so as not to become bored with the mundane mercenariness that a steady diet of jingles and recording sessions brings. I've manifested gigs & world tours with the stimulating company of Lou Reed, Robert Plant, Cyndi Lauper, Paul Simon, Whitney Houston, Al Jarreau, Gregory Abbott, Sheena Easton, Buddy Guy, Rupert Holmes, Michaels McDonald & Bolton, Paula Abdul and many others." Pic is from most recent, as lead singer for Holiday On Ice's "In Concert" European tour, 2000-2001. Chrissy appeared in several on & off-Broadway shows including "City of Angels", "Beehive", "Leader of the Pack" and as Janis Joplin in "Love, Janis"--a kick after frequently waving at her during her Washington High daze of seeing her tool around SF in her Porsche, only to be posing in the same car, costumed in Janis' getup some years later!!! Chrissy's songwriting earned her a gold record in the '80's, with disco diva Evelyn Champagne King's "Bedroom Eyes", but she prefers writing jazz lately and is recording a CD this year in that genre. Most recently, she was lead vocalist for Holiday On Ice's 'In Concert', performing for nearly a year throughout Europe and singing rock, world beat and jazz in 8 languages! During the first year, the anti-American sentiment was palpable...(like a cattle prod!), so that September, when the towers collapsed and the American wound began to fester, Chrissy was vacationing in Portland, Oregon and decided to stay....cancelling another 2 years of world touring. Chrissy is happy to be leading a slightly more relaxed lifestyle teaching voice, performance coaching, lecturing and gigging locally, with more time to smell Portland¿s lovely roses! She's a dedicated herbalist and medical aromatherapist, continuing her studies with some of the world's top healers. Recently, her passion for singing serves a greater purpose as training with VoiceBio has broadened Chrissy's spectrum of healing arts--check it out on the net! Very exciting frontiers in this day and age. Born in the era and place of our mutual schooling....Thank God for placing us in the perfect place and time for growth and transformation, huh? Chrissy wants the reader to know how important YOUR VOICE and your intent is to manifesting what you want in the universe. We have powerful tools and it is our responsibility to USE THEM to make a difference. WHY AM I HERE AND HOW CAN I DO IT DIFFERENTLY, BETTER, SMARTER? HOW MANY LIVES CAN YOU TOUCH IN A POSITIVE WAY? The truth is, we are microcosmic reflectors and must make a change in ourselves to effect a larger change in our world. This is not airy-fairy crap. It's physics. And it is our destiny as creators of our own reality. What are your choices for change? What seeds are you planting in your garden? What are the positive elements growing you every day? Are you weeding out what doesn't serve you? I am, and I DO, every day. I'm open to discussing our higher potential. If you've read this far, we probably have something in common that lead you here. It doesn't take too much of a st...(read more) |
