Retired from the U.S. Government in 2010 after 36 years with NSWCCD-SSES (Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division - Ship Systems Engineering Station; ex-NAVSSES and ex-NAVSEC). Achieved civilian position of senior mechanical engineer. Travelled extensively within the continental U.S. as well as outside (e.g., Panama, Germany, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Mexico and Hawaii).
Specialized in submarine life support systems (i.e., carbon monoxide and hydrogen burners, carbon dioxide scrubbers, oxygen generators and atmosphere monitors). Acquired a working knowledge of other hull, mechanical and electrical systems and equipment used aboard fast attack, ballistic missile and special operations forces submarines.
