Greetings to all Suitland 64 Graduates and friends:
The reunion committee is finalizing plans for your 50th reunion. Due to the success of the 40th reunion held in Ocean City, Maryland, we have decided to again use this location. In addition to the attractions of Ocean City (www.oceancity.com), the shores of Delaware and their sales tax-free outlet stores are less than 40 minutes away.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, 10100 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD. 21842, 410-524-3535. The evening will start at 6:00 PM with Hors d’oeuvers and a cash bar followed by dinner at 7:00. Music will be provided from 9 to 11. Dress will be semiformal, coats for the gentlemen and evening wear for the ladies.
The Clarion is providing a special rate to our group of $120 a night plus tax with a two-night minimum; when calling the hotel be sure to mention you are with the Suitland Class of ’64 to get the group rate….rooms must be booked at least 30 days prior to the reunion to receive the discount. There are a number of other hotels in the area, but since this is a holiday weekend early booking is a must no matter where you plan to stay.
A number of us plan to meet in the hotel bar Friday evening at around 7; everyone is invited to join. The hotel has a breakfast buffet on Sundays as well as a regular breakfast menu.
While October is a long way off, we need to provide our count to the hotel at least 45 days prior to the reunion (September 1st). If you plan on attending, please complete and return the attached form with your check payable to “Suitland Class of ‘64” as soon as possible. If you later find you are unable to attend and notify us prior to September 10 your money will be refunded.
Since this is our 50th reunion, we would like to have as many classmates attend as possible. If you receive this notice and know of other classmates that are not aware of the reunion please either provide them with the information or contact us and we will contact them.
