Shirley Hoskyn McCracken
Class of 1953
I have two claims to fame (except for my two great sons) Number one, I have been a registered nurse since 1956, still active at 77 years of age in a critical care unit. I have seen many changes in my 50 plus years of nursing--from iron lungs to glass syringes that were reused over and over. My second claim to fame is a book I wrote this past year about the Civil War named The Breastplate. It has been receiving 5 star reviews and many say would make a great movie. I wish my friend Don Argo, from the class of '53, was still alive to share it with. I have a book he wrote that I bought from him at our 50th reunion.
