Robert (Bobby) G. Lannert
Class of 1969
Now, he is retired from MoDOT and has started his own business called Snow King Technologies. He has also invented and patented a piece of machinery called the TowPLow which is currently being manufactured by Viking Cives. His farming background, stemming from his childhood days in Sturgeon, helped him design his new invention.
The first TowPLow hit the road in Kansas City, Missouri in 2005 and has received widespread attention from various other states. Last fall, Governor Matt Blunt recognized my dad and MoDOT for their ingenuity by presenting them with the Governor’s Award for Quality and Productivity. Currently, he is traveling on a nationwide tour to states like Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming, and California to promote his invention.
My family and I are extremely proud of him and would like to recognize his accomplishments. He has always taught us to live out our dreams, and it is inspiring for us to see him fulfilling his own. He once said, “I grew up in the ‘Show Me State’, but I’m going to turn the ‘Me’ around and go to other states to ‘Show ’Em’”. Well, he certainly has showed us that anything can be accomplished with a little persistence and determination. Way to go Dad!
