I served in the Army six years. I was drafted as a Private in 1963 and then went through Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Lieutenant. My first tour in Vietnam was as an Armed Helicopter Pilot. I served in Germany. My second tour in Vietnam was in the IV Corps flying Cobras for a short time and then commanding the Operations Center for Army Aviation in the IV Corps. I was released from active duty as a Captain.
