About Me | It's hard to believe that it's been so long since we graduated. I now live in Gilbert, Arizona and have been married for 20 years. I met my Husband Doug at my first job. We don't have any children, but we do have the four legged kind. We have a Chihuahua, 2 Cats, a Chinchilla a bird and an Iguana. I spent the first 10 years out of High school working for Carson Pirie Scott at Stratford Square. I was a Department Manager for them of various areas and I attended some College classes at the same time. I then worked for PetSmart for 5 years. I was a Field Support Technician for them. I traveled, opening new stores for them and did technical support for 60 stores in my own region that covered Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota . It was a lot of hard work and fun, but working with the travel and 24/7 on call availability, it got old. I then worked for Bath and Body Works for a few years and was Store Manager of the Springhill Mall location. After that I went to Barnes and Noble for 5 years. I transferred to Arizona with them and had a great work experience there. I currently do not work and I really miss that discount on my books!! Arizona really called to us for a long time and we moved here 8 years ago. It's a beautiful place and I love my swimming pool, which is something I had wanted since I was a small child. I am passionate about animals and conservation , so it isn't any wonder that I have been a part of the Shedd Aquarium's efforts to study and protect the Andros Iguana. I have joined their expeditions twice now, working in the field capturing Iguanas to obtain their sex, growth rates and other information vital to the study. It is a lot of hard work and is very rewarding. It's just a bummer to work in the Bahamas too!!! My interest in Iguanas began when we got our boy about 6 years ago. He is now a healthy adolescent Green Iguana, weighing in at 10 pounds and nearing 5 feet in length. I just love him!! I hope that everyone is doing well. I miss a lot of you guys that I've lost touch with. Please feel...(read more) |
