About Me	I am the founder of THE MERCY SEAT CATHEDRAL, a vision that GOD has blessed me with to restore broken relationships with him, and to create new ones through truth. Pastor Samuel M. Washington Holy, humble, and servant… these are just a few words that would describe Pastor Samuel Washington. Regarded as a young prodigious trailblazer and trendsetter among his colleagues and cotemporaries alike, he has proven to shown an uncommon willingnes to talk about the tough subjects that are often left unaddressed through a direct and frank approach from the scriptures. He has consistently challenged traditional religious routines in favor of relevancy, and non-effective church services in favor of impactful community integrated ministry. Born in the year of our Lord 1973 in the great metropolis of Philadelphia, Pastor Washington was molded early in the way of the Lord as a member of the Dauphin Street Baptist Church, being baptized at the tender age of 12. Similar to the young Samuel spoken of in the Old Testament of the Holy Scriptures, Pastor Samuel Washington gave himself away to the Lord, serving the people of God in a variety of capacities under his Pastor. As the matriculation of his spiritual knowledge and maturity continued to manifest itself during his teen years, he also made sure to take his secular education seriously, having been reared in the Philadelphia Public School System. Due to his heart and love for people, even beyond the church, Pastor Washington went on to attend the Philadelphia Police Academy to become an agent of the law. After 12 years of faithful service as a police officer with the South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, he has been noted as a distinguished servant to the public, and example to many young men within the community. Pastor Washington also continued to extend his theological education in preparation for both his personal spiritual walk as well as his call to serve God’s people, by attending the Deliverance Bible Institute of Philadelphia. Having been proved to be a man after God’s own heart, the Lord began molding him to become a shepherd to His people. Just like young Samuel in the scripture, Pastor Washington heeded the call from the Lord in 2009, and began to write the vision for an end-time ministry for the every-day person in need of Christ, so aptly named “THE MERCY SEAT CATHEDRAL.” Seeing fit that it was not good for Pastor Washington to walk out His earthly destiny alone, God smiled down on him by giving him one of his most precious and beautiful creations. Created, Molded and shaped just for him, their spiritual DNA being so similar, Pastor Sam’s spirit leapt the first time he was in Lady Monica's presence, and he knew that she was his wife. Then went on to marry Lady Monica in September 2010 and have continued their wedded bliss and unified walk with God until this day.
