Ruth Elisabeth Jordan, 60, of Basye, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Bowman’s Crossing.
Miss Jordan was born February 9, 1956 in Woodstock, daughter of the late John Joseph Jordan and Helene Behr Jordan. She retired from Fairfax County Public Schools and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Jordan and wife Bethany of Mt. Jackson; brother, Peter Jordan and wife Mary Ann of Mt. Jackson. She is also survived by her companion Richard Barb of Basye.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, c/o Philip Bowman, 11117 S. Middle Road, Edinburg, VA. 22824 or to the Humane Society of Shenandoah County.
