Graduation Year Class of 1964
Date of Passing Jun 11, 2018
About Robert was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in 1946 and graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1964. Afterward, he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and graduated with the class of 1969 obtaining a B.S. in geology. Robert was hired after college by an underground mining operation that produced gold, silver, lead, copper, and zinc in Silverton, Colorado, where he was employed by three different mining companies from 1969 to 1992. Robert and his family moved to Montrose, Colorado, in 1984, though he continued to work in and commute to Silverton. When the last mining operation ceased operations in Silverton, he was offered and declined employment in a mine in Nevada so he could remain in Montrose.
Robert briefly lived in Alaska as a young child and the experience fueled a lifelong interest in the state. He grew up working and living on various family ranches. In high school, he was part of a skiing marching band in which he played trombone. While living in Silverton, he was especially fond of riding motorcycles and snowmobiles with family and friends.
He married his wife of 43 years, Jerri Glanville, in May 1975 and had two children. Both children followed their father’s footsteps and attended Colorado State University.
Robert was proud to be a native Coloradan and drew immense joy from experiencing all of Colorado’s outdoor splendor. A source of tremendous pride for him was sharing his love, respect, and ever-growing knowledge of the outdoors with his family through 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, photography, gardening, and scenic tours of the state.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jerri; son Jeremy Bradley; daughter, Lynna Dicamillo, her husband Chris Dicamillo; and granddaughters, Bailey and Brennen Dicamillo. He is survived by many other family members in the Colorado and Wyoming area. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
