About	MARK JOHNSON Obituary Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 16, 2013. OAK RIDGE — Mark Cyrus Johnson, 69, died January 15, 2013. A memorial service will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Gibsonville, NC Saturday, January 19 at 11 a.m. Mr. Johnson was born May 6, 1943 in Granite Falls, son of the late Roy Leonard and Violet Smith Johnson. He served as a pastor of several North Carolina Lutheran Churches and was a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for NC Lutheran Homes in Albemarle, then Hickory until he retired. His second career was a financial planner and tax preparer and Enrolled Agent before IRS. He was a graduate of Mitchell College, Statesville; Lenoir-Rhyne University, Hickory (AB); Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C. (MDiv); UNC-G (M Ed.) and College of Financial Planning, Denver, CO (CFP). He was a husband, father, pastor, friend, mentor, financial planner, servant of God first and mankind second. Survivors include his wife, Willie Johnson, daughter, Christy Johnson, two brothers, Ronald Johnson (Daranee) of Manhattan, KS and David Johnson (Sandy) of Lincolnton; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frieden's Lutheran Church, 6001 NC Hwy 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249; Lenoir-Rhyne University, and/or Southern Seminary, Hickory, NC Forbis and Dick, N. Elm is serving the Johnson family.
