Start HS Alumni,
I'm writing to you for your assistance in addressing and correcting an injustice that will occur on the 29th of September to an Air Force Veteran who died two years ago. My brother Joseph M. Gordon (a Start High School Graduate), who served honorably, will have his Veterans Administration provided Grave Marker permanently removed from his current place of rest on the 29th, by his spouse(from Indiana) who refused to have it placed.
After a year had passed, his father Larry, a Marine, and his brother Denny, a retired Navy Veteran(both Graduates of Macomber High School), contacted the VA and had the appropriate Military Marker procured, and placed. Angered by this, his spouse has mandated the Ottawa Hills Cemetery have it removed without plans of a replacement. I'm outraged at the disrespect and disregard for this veteran who served on active duty, and with the Guard with numerous deployments to the Middle East.
Is there no justice even for our veterans at their final resting place? I'm requesting your assistance to intervene, and put a stop to this deplorable act. For anyone who know Joe, I'm asking you to call the cemetery and voice your concern with this so we can get it corrected.
