About Me	I don't know if it was the time or place, probably both, but I feel so fortunate to have grown up in Lockport, rural western New York. The people, the place, like domesticated wild. Sojourned from my hometown in August 1977, on a journey in a little green MGB. Fate brought me to the San Francisco Bay Area and I have been here every since. I fell in with a group of people, who became my new family of friends. My tribe, as I'm told it's now called. They remain dear friends to this day; much like I feel about my friends from Starpoint. A wife, Joanne, in '81. A daughter in '83, a son in '84. With Joanne's encouragement and a goal set with the help of "What Color is your Parachute", I put myself through college in Engineering Technology and Public Administration, graduating with a BA in 1986. My reformation and enlightenment period, beginning in '93, put me on a path of self awareness and discovery, the greatest of which is finding my heart and experiencing it bloom with love. Jeff and I have been together for upwards of 18 years now. The reason I mention this is not to be shocking, because it isn't, but to let you, my first family of friends, know that I have found happiness in my life. As a parent and a friend, this is all we really want for for our kids, to be happy. I am still great friends with my (now former) wife; better friends now since we split up. Our kids, no longer kids in their early 30's, are both making their way, personally and professionally, on their own. I just completed a 28 year career in local government land use planning, ending as the Assistant Planning Manager for the City of Walnut Creek, California, a premier city in the SF East Bay Area. Not too shabby for a kid from the sticks! Jeff and I live comfortably at our beach house in Santa Cruz. All I can say is, "this is not my house, this not my beautiful wife, How did I get here?
