Army, 20+ Years
I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant into the Field Artillery (FA) in May 1976 in the US Army Reserve. After attending the FA Basic Officer Course at Fort Sill, OK. My 1st two assignments were to Germany & Fort Polk, LA. Then I was assigned to the FA Advanced Course with a follow-on assignment to South Korea. My final assignment while on active duty was as instructor at the FA School at Fort Sill, OK. For my last 13 years in the military, I was assigned to a major Army Reserve Division in Birmingham, AL. While assigned to the 87th Division, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel which is the rank at my retirement. During my time on active duty, my wife & I were blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Rebecca & Amanda along with lots of wonderful experiences and meeting a lot of wonderful people.
