About	Manter, Kansas Danny Peat Von Hemel, 76 of Pueblo West. Danny answered his final roll call, July 23, 2014. He is survived by his son, Jerold (Dianne) Von Hemel; daughter, Theresa (Gerald) McLaughlin; brothers, Don (Roylynn), Ross, and Ron; sister, Carolyn Spell; and brothers in law, Dwight Mellecker, and Mike Dull; also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Judy Teresa; father and mother, Buck and Alta father and mother in law, Mickey and Virginia Pemberton: sister, Judy Mellecker; sister in law, Marilyn K. Dull Danny graduated from high school in May 1956. He enlisted in to the U.S. Marine Corp where he remained until Aug 1969. In Sept 1969 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Danny served his country proudly for twenty years including two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V, Combat Action ribbon along with other awards and decorations of honorable service. After retiring from military service in 1976, he earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Colorado in 1980. He worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1997. The family would like to thank Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care. Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment in Crested Butte at a later date. At Danny's request donations may be made to the Pueblo County Animal Shelter in lieu of food and flowers.
