Donald L. Maris, 76, of Ulysses, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born April 5, 1935, in Johnson City, to Albert James and Elma Marie Coleman Maris.
Mr. Maris was a lifetime resident of Stanton and Grant counties.
On July 7, 1957, he married Sandra L. Orr in Ulysses. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Terry Lee Maris of Converse, Texas, and Kerry Joe Maris of Louisburg; a daughter, Deborah Kreie of Ulysses; two brothers, Harold Maris of Louisiana, and Jim Maris of Garden City; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Anna Ruth Maris.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Oasis Church in Ulysses.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to Loaves and Fishes, in care of the funeral home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.
