Minnie Louise Watson, age 94, of Johnson, Kansas, died Saturday, July 8, 2023, at The Cedars in McPherson, Kansas. She was born on November 17, 1928, in Worland, Missouri, the daughter of Leslie and Rachel (Robinson) Stringer.
Minnie married Ross Watson, Jr. on January 5, 1946. They had four children, Neal Leon, Rachel Susan, Mark Allen and Marla Kay. Minnie loved her family, immediate, extended and all the friends she gathered through life. Her nieces and nephews were like grandchildren as well.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Walker and husband Gary of McPherson, and Marla Welch and husband Greg of Lawrence; grandchildren, Kerry, Jeffrey, and Tava Watson, Scott and Chris Walker, and Joshua and Joel Welch; great-grandchildren, Cole, Justin, Trevor, Hunter, Simon, Darcy, Wesley and Lucas; and great-great grandchild, Skylar.
Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Rachel Stringer; husband, Ross; sons, Neal and Mark.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Manter United Methodist Church with Pastor Jacques Kambol officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
