About	Manter, Kansas Elliott Stanton, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Caney Nursing Home in Caney. He was born March 31, 1927, in Plains, to Lester and Helen Singley Stanton. Stanton married Cherie Vadnais in May 1980 in Timnath, Colo. He graduated from Manter High School. A former Johnson City resident, Stanton was a retired farmer and truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Cherie, of Hugoton; a daughter, Diane Williamson of Modesto, Calif.; a son, Mark Stanton of Fort Collins, Colo.; a stepson, Peter Richardson of Garden City; a sister, Edith Kruse of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Leon Stanton of Salida, Colo.; two grandsons; a stepgrandson; and a great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Stanton; and a brother, Lyndell Stanton. A private graveside service was at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson City.
