About	Manter, Kansas Funeral services for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Anita J. Hixson will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar. Reverend Ian Blacker will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Veteran's Section of Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Visitation for Mrs. Hixson will be held from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Tuesday September 21, 2010 and from 9:00 AM to service time on Wednesday at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar. Anita J. Hixson was born on January 19, 1928 in Long Beach, California and departed this life on Friday September 17, 2010 at the Skyridge Medical Center in Lonetree, Colorado at the age of 82. Anita was preceded in death by her father and mother-Wesley S. and Marie Scrivner both of Manter, KS; by her husband-Lee Merle Hixson of Lamar on November 24, 2008; and by one brother-Robert Scrivner of Manter, KS. Mrs. Hixson is survived by four daughters-Cheryl (Charles) Land of Gillette, WY; Linda (Bud) Becker of Craig, CO; Deborah (Terry) Howland of Holly; and Venora (Jim) Perkins of Wiley; by nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and by two sisters-Jacqueline Batterton of Johnson, KS; and Carol Mills of Boise City, OK; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Veteran's Section Fairmount Cemetery Fund or to a charity of one's choice either directly or through Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.
