Ralph DeSelms, age 92, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at New Dawn Memory Care in Aurora, Colo.
He was born Jan. 8, 1922 to Emery Schultz and Alta Eliza (Allmon) DeSelms in Stafford County.
He married Thelma Wood on Feb. 1, 1959 in Ulysses.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Grant County Senior Center.
Survivors include his son, Tom DeSelms of Aurora, Colo.; step-son, Marvin Shelite; brother, Leland DeSelms; grandson, Nicholas DeSelms; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; step-son, Elvin Shelite; step-daughters: Loretta Herman, Lenora Howard and Joanna Alexander; brother, Arthur; and sisters, Edna and Lucille.
• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Janet Hernandez officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
