George William Kilgore, 92, of Syracuse, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born March 28, 1918, in Ashland, to Fred and Rhoda Kilgore.
Mr. Kilgore had been a wheat farmer and cattleman before his retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Jeanette McCracken of Holly, Colo., and Delores Jean Akers of Overland Park; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Leora Creech, Joyce Rinehart, Juan Toole, Arlene Nichols and Donna Webb. His wife, Marion Kilgore, whom he married on Oct. 13, 1940, in Fowler, died April 19, 2004. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard and Warren Kilgore; and two sisters, Letha McGinty and Velma Baier.
Funeral was at the First United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Burial was at Syracuse Cemetery.
