| About | Manter, Kansas Letha M. McGinty, 92, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 3, 1917, at Ashland, the daughter of Fred and Rhoda Fender Kilgore. She grew up in Manter, but lived most of her adult life in Seward. She was a farmer and homemaker. She belonged to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Altar Society, both in Seward. On Nov. 21, 1939, she married Harry Francis McGinty in Seward. He died July 7, 1960. Survivors include: sons, Michael, Seward, and James, Farmington Hills, Mich.; daughters, Karen Marker, Hutchinson, and Rosemary Henry, Houma, La.; brother, George Kilgore, Syracuse; sisters, Leora Creech, Grenada, Colo., Arlene Nichols, Johnson, Joyce Reinhart, Thomas, Okla., Juan Toole and Donna Webb, both of Manter; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Francis; brothers, Bernard and Warren Kilgore; sister, Sally Baier; and a great-grandson. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Seward, with Father Rene Guesnier presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Seward. Memorials may be made to CKMC Foundation for the Benefit of Heartland Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
