Genevieve Adeline Crowell, 100, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in Hockessin, Delaware. She was born November 14, 1916 in Manter, Kansas to Albert Bernard and Della Naomi (Pore) Mott. On July 12, 1936 she married John Ames Crowell in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1983.
Genevieve was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She loved quilting, gardening, traveling and entering items into the Barber County fair.
She is survived by her four sons, Winston "Chuck" Crowell of Greeley, Colorado, Alvie Crowell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gaylen Crowell of Plano, Texas and Dennis Crowell of Chandler, Arizona; two daughters, Jackie Ziegler of Holland, Ohio and Beverly Baker of Wilmington, Delaware; three sisters, Winnie, Della and Daisy; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; daughter, Sharis Whitacre; two brothers, Edward Mott and Jack Mott; two sisters, Naomi and Joan; and one grandchild.
Private graveside service will be held and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
