About	Manter, Kansas Graduate Graveside services for Lamar, Colorado resident, Rachel Reece will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado. Pastor Kathy Leathers will officiate. Per Rachel's request, there will be no visitation. Rachel Irene (Simmons) Reece was born on December 26, 1919 in Morton County, Kansas to Jesse and Maude (Milburn) Simmons. She passed away on April 23, 2015 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 95. Rachel was united in marriage to Lewis C. Reece. Rachel worked on the air base in Liberal, KS during WWII. She was an avid gardener. Rachel took great pride in keeping up her home and raising her children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holly and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Greensburg, Kansas. Rachel is survived by her son, Thomas Reece and wife, Bonnie of Lamar, CO; daughters, Doris Cook of Lamar, CO, Patricia Hollandsworth of Bullhead City, AZ, and Charlotte Reece of Mount Vernon, TX; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis Reece; sons, Donald and Daniel Reece; brothers, Dale and Ross Simmons; sisters, Marjorie Herrin, Geneva Bentley, and Lorena Pifer. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, CO 81052.
