| About | Manter, Kansas Geneva Ruth Bentley, 89, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at her home. She was born Feb. 16, 1918, to Jesse Franklin and Haley Maude (Milburn) Simmons in the Dermot community in Morton County. She married Thomas Victor Bentley on Dec. 21, 1941, at Hugoton. He preceded her in death. A lifetime resident of Morton and Stevens counties, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Hugoton. Survivors include three daughters, Marcella Salmon and husband, Dave, Overland Park, Lanette Kitch and husband, Scott, Rolla, and Jenny Adair and husband, John, Hugoton; one brother, Ross Simmons, Hugoton; two sisters, Lorena Pifer, Liberal, and Rachel Reece, Colorado; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dale Simmons; and one sister, Marjorie Herrin. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene, Hugoton, with the Rev. Ron Crossley presiding. Burial will be in the Hugoton Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
