About	Manter, Kansas Jonathan Ivar Johnston, age 93, passed away on Jan. 9, 2007, at the Villas at Sunny Acres Medical Center, in Thornton, Colo. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Ferne (Streeter); daughter, Nancy (Ron) Rupe of Oceanside, Calif.; son, Jon (Lois) Johnston of Westminster, Colo.; grandchildren, Brian (Sunny) Rupe of Sacramento, Calif., Christina (Wally) Lewis of La Grange, Calif., Rebecca (Jeff) Huston of Lakewood, Colo., Pamela (Charles) Grooms of San Marcos, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren. Ivar was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Debra Sue; infant grandson, Rodney Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and son, David Johnston of Pueblo, Colo. He was born in Baca County, Colo., on March 13, 1913, the only son of Arthur and Mary (Molly) Johnston, on a ranch in the Walsh community. Ivar moved his family in 1941, to the San Luis Valley where they lived for 24 years in the Alamosa and Center communities before moving to Colorado Springs, where he retired from Heating and Plumbing Engineers in 1978. After retirement, Ivar and Ferne lived in Pueblo prior to moving to Thornton in 2002. He was a life-member of Lodge No. 44 AF&AM in Alamosa, Colo. Ivar was a devoted husband, wonderful father and loved by all. Visitation, 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Funeral service, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
