About	Manter, Kansas Myrta Luvella Sipes, 94, died Aug. 6, 2007, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, Johnson. She was born Sept. 26, 1912, in Tangier, Okla., the daughter of George and Emma Peoples Coombes. She taught school in Walsh and country school in southwest Kansas, including Richfield, Rolla and Manter. On June 11, 1935, she married Glenn Sipes in Forsyth, Mo. He died. Survivors include: two sons, Bob and Ronald, both of Manter; a sister, Geneva Hale, Johnson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Coombes; and a sister, Letha Svoboda. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Johnson, with the Rev. April Chlumsky presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson. Memorials may be sent to Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, in care of the funeral home.
