About	Lyndell Gene Stanton, 77, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at the Stanton County Hospital in Johnson. He was born May 8, 1930, in Elkhart to Lester and Helen (Singley) Stanton. He married Donna Lee Tuggle on Nov. 8, 1949. To this union five children were born. She survives. Lyndell attended all 12 years of school in Stanton County and attended the University of Kansas on a football scholarship. He was a farmer and a resident of Stanton County all his life. He was a member of the Manter United Methodist Church, Manter. Other survivors include one son, Greg Stanton and wife, Michele, Centerville, Ohio, one daughter, Pam Caldwell and husband, Skip, Garden City; two brothers, Leon, Salida, Colo., and Elliott, Johnson; one sister, Edith Kruse, Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Lyndell was preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Rodney, Tommy and Bryce. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at the Manter United Methodist Church, with the Rev. April Wegehaupt officiating. Burial will be at the Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson, with burial rites performed by the Johnson Masonic Lodge 441.
