He was the son of Claude Lewis and Fannie Emma (Milburn) Pearce. He was the second of five children: His siblings were, Ralph, Jerry, Claude Dean and Carolyn. He married Lois and had a family, 4 children - Janet Fogarty (Steve) of Emmett, ID; Martin Pearce (Christi) also of Emmett, ID; Leslie Chao (Harry) of San Dimas, CA; and Ellen Mathews (Martin) of Sierra Madre, CA.
