| About | US Marine Corps-World War II From Ancestry Notes from Genealogist Ann and Art Miller (Art Miller being a descendant of James Carrithers Sr.) ln 1932, Howard was adopted out of a Kansas orphanage by Mary and George Carrithers. His only known siblings are a sister, Blanche Bailey, mentioned in the adoption letters and a sister Anita Lee Sage, who died either in 1944 or 1945. Howard enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in WWII. Howard and Polly separated September 1, 1975 and then were divorced January 3, 1979, he then married Thelma L.
