Funeral for Lawson "Glenn" Tucker, 74, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Figgins-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Johnson, with the Rev. Charles Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Stanton County Cemetery.
Mr. Tucker died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. He had been battling cancer, but died of a sudden illness at Stanton County Hospital, Johnson.
A farmer and rancher in Stanton County, he was born Sept. 13, 1923, at Elkhart, the son of Edwin Lawson and Cecele (Fisher) Tucker. On Aug. 15, 1948, he married Genevieve Hampton at Johnson. She survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Danny, Paul and Jackie, all of Johnson; two daughters, Patsy Huddleston, Jay, Okla., and Glenda Johnson, Lakewood, Calif.; four sisters, Maxine Burkhard, Manhattan, Lillie Ann Hagerman, Congress, Ariz., Pat Suitor, Tempe, Ariz., and Myrna Barnes, Upland, Calif.; a brother, Gene Tucker, San Diego; five grandsons; nine granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and four great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Tucker, and two sisters, Noreen Gray and Jane McEwin.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the American Cancer Society Camp Hope Children's Camp, in care of the funeral home.
