Floris Yuvone Carr, 66, retired licensed practical nurse, died Friday, Dec. 15, 1989 at Saint Catherine's Hospital, Garden City, Ks after a lengthy illnes.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Cherokee, Oklahoma the daughter of Grover H. Newlin and Barbara Ernestine.
A four year college student, she was a resident of Johnson since 1957, moving from Siebert, Colorado. She was a retired licenses practicing nurse at the Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, Ks.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Johnson, Ks.
On September 14, 1942, she married Rodman C. Carr at Ulysses, Kansas. He died March 16, 1985.
Survivors: sons, Randy R. of Garden City, Larry D. of Okarche, Okla.; brothers, Hank Newlin, Chet Newlin, both of Brush, Colo.; sisters, Clydia Snodgrass of Amarillo, Texas, Tedna Blackman of Wardensville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Johnson Cemetery, the Rev. Steve Kinsey presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Phillips Mortuary, Ulysses.
