About	Gladys Ruth Oliver, 77, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at her home in rural Stanton County. Born June 25, 1922, in Grant County, she was the daughter of Stonewall and Viola Ruth (Carter) Oliver. A 1940 graduate of Johnson High School, she was president of her senior class. She moved to northeast Stanton County in 1937, where she farmed and ranched her entire life on the Rest Haven Ranch. A member of the Stanton County and Grant County historical societies, she also served as president, secretary, treasurer and reporter of the Pleasant Hour Club. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include a host of friends and neighbors. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Johnson City, with the Rev. Dave Kaufmann officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Stanton County Historical Society, in care of the funeral home, 605 W.
