Lucille S. Smith, 86, died Oct. 25, 2006, at Eben Ezer Care Center, Brush, Colo.
She was born May, 12, 1920, in Gray County, the daughter of Athol and Rosa Elliott Scott. She graduated from Stanton County High School. Formerly of Stanton County, she was a Hutchinson resident since 1952, moving from Argonia. She managed Gay Grocery Store and was cashier at Fitzgerald's and Collin's Grocery Store,
She belonged to Mitchell Methodist Chapel and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 244, in Lakin.
On Nov. 6, 1948, she married Carmen C. Smith in Garden City. He died June 30, 1985.
Survivors include: a sister, Bonnie Caneva, Fort Morgan, Colo.; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by: a sister, Lavon Tallman; and two brothers, John and Kenneth Scott.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Kenny Graham presiding. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
