About Carl K. Nall grew up in Johnson City, Stanton County, Kansas, where he lettered
in Track, Tennis, and Basketball.

He attended Emporia State University for two years before enlisting in the US Army Signal Corp Reserves. He served in the US Army during World War II for 3 years, 2 months and
8 days. He was a in secret combat intelligence unit that directly reported to General Patton's Headquarters. His tour took him through England, France, Luxembourg and Germany. He has many very interesting and unique stories from his military experiences, which he shared with the VA History project in 2004, and can be viewed here:

Carl and his wife Betty Nall, whom preceded him in death in 2011, were married for more than 63 years, and reside in Topeka for the majority of their lives. They have three sons, Bruce (Littleton, CO), David (Lawrence) and Robert (Topeka), and a daughter, Mary (Lawrence), and one grandaughter Andrea (Houston, TX).

Carl spent his entire teaching career at Topeka High School teaching Retail Selling through the Kaw Area Vocational Technical School's program. Carl and Betty also started and ran the Capital Heights pre-school until it was destroyed by the 1966 Tornado, that also
destroyed their home. His Sons, Daughter and grand daughter are glad that he spent the extra $500 (pre 1966 prices) for the optional concrete tornado room in the basement of their home, which was the only thing basically left after the tornado hit, with the family safe
inside.
Carl is loved and tremendously missed by his family.
