At his request, there will be no formal service for Clarence Alvan Reynolds, 85, of Fairfield. A memorial to Mr. Reynolds may be seen at www.whiteyreynolds.com. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Reynolds died Jan. 19, 2001, following a long illness.

Born June 6, 1915, in Syracuse, Kan., Mr. Reynolds resided in Johnson, Kan. for 17 years and in San Leandro for 52 years until moving to Fairfield two months ago. He served in the Navy in WWII, worked for California Equipment Company for 35 years as a truck parts salesman. He built and maintained a cabin in Lake Tahoe for his family, was a professional alto saxophone player, and was active in Boy Scouts of America, serving as a scout leader.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by his son, Craig of Castro Valley; daughter, Nancy Weitemeyer of Fairfield; and grandaughters, Stephanie Weitemeyer of Illinois and Melanie Weitemeyer of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Olga.

Arrangements were being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
