DONALD MELVIN HESS, 83, of Denver died Dec. 23. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church, 13231 E. Mississippi Ave., Aurora. Mr. Hess was born in Fowler, Kan., on May 31, 1915. He married Minnie Gail Nelson, 1939. He worked as a meatcutter at Oliver's Meat Market for more than 35 years. Survivors include his wife; daughters Donetta June Patrick of Westminster, Dianna Carol Drinnon of Aurora; sons Gary Michael of Texas, Melvin Lee of Denver; sisters Esther Shepard of Denver, June Cockrum of Kansas, Doris O'Banion and Glynnis Case, both of Canon City; brother Stanley of New Mexico; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
