Nellie Goddard, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
She was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Johnson, the daughter of William J. and Ida May Milburn Smith.
She married David Goddard April 28, 1934, in Garden City. He died Sept. 6, 1982, in Garden City. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Goddard was a homemaker and had been a Garden City resident since 1983, having moved from Holcomb. She lived there more than 50 years.
Her hobbies and interests were drawing, painting, writing short stories and poems and playing the accordian.
Survivors include a son, David Goddard Jr., Scott City; a daughter, Bette Jean Burch, Syracuse; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside service is 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Calling times are 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
The family requests memorials to the Finney County EMS in care of the funeral home.
